The MedWatcher health platform is described as the "Instagram for patients" and aims to provide a reliable source of information and guidance for patients in need of drug therapy. Through the platform, patients can access curated content on relevant medical topics and provide feedback through science-based questionnaires. MedWatcher differs from other health apps by integrating all the necessary functions and information on a single platform, allowing users to build their own program.
The platform also allows a wide range of publishers, including pharmacies, research institutes and scientific publishers, to share and distribute their content. Pharmacies can run their own channels on the platform to share health news or current offers. The platform is also open to individual pharmacists and doctors who can run their own publisher pages. So far, ten pharmacies are represented on the platform. An important aspect of MedWatcher is funding from the industry, whereby pharmaceutical manufacturers can create their own "ImpactMonitor" areas and accompany patients digitally during product use or treatment. The industry partners are also responsible for the content they share on the platform.
